Civic engagement starts with caring about your community, and kids already do! Learn how planning a celebration builds leadership skills! This session is a part of the School District of Philadelphia's Parent and Family University.

About the event
Families learn how planning real celebrations builds the foundational skills of community leadership: deciding who to include, crafting a message, organizing people around a shared goal, and making everyone feel welcome.
Each session is built around celebrations families love so the learning feels personally meaningful. Kids practice leading the planning with adult support, and caregivers learn how to coach without taking over. Families leave with a planning toolkit and a Party in a Box ready to use.
Remember civic engagement starts with caring about your community, and kids already do!
